We have a new patient journey in place to protect our patients and our team. All of the steps that we have put into place either meet, or in many cases exceed, the guidelines and recommendations set out by our professional bodies. Although things may look and feel different for now, they are necessary steps to reduce the risk of possible transmission of Coronavirus.
We are continuing to welcome patients back to our practice. We have been resuming dental care by prioritising those patients who have urgent & emergency dental care needs. We are also pleased to be able to offer free phone or video consultations for any new treatments. As the National Covid Risk Level reduces, we will be in touch with our patients to continue your routine dental care with us.
We can provide advice on painkillers and prescribe antibiotics to your local pharmacy. We are available on our normal phone number 01376 501688 within working hours (8:30 - 5:45 Mon-Fri) where you can speak to a dentist for any advice on any dental issues.
We are booking any private treatments including hygienist appointments. Due to the National Risk Level, we are not currently able to rebook any NHS appointments but continue to provide urgent & emergency dental care. Any appointments that have been cancelled as a result of Coronavirus will be prioritised by clinical need and rebooked accordingly.

Our New Patient Journey
Calling the practice
Our lovely receptionist Reegan will be back, answering the phone to deal with any enquiry, question or concern that you may have. We are able to see any patients for private treatment and hygienist appointments. We are continuing to give dental support, advice on painkillers and where indicated, prescriptions.
Speaking to the Dentist (Emergencies only)
Once you have spoken to Reegan, a dentist will call you back. They will need to ask questions to clinically assess you.
If you are interested in a new treatment consultation over video/phone then this pre-assessment will not be needed and a convenient appointment will be booked.
Booking your appointment
Reegan, our receptionist, will speak to you after the dentist to book you in for an appointment. Whilst we are trying to give you an appointment at a time that suits you, we do not have as many appointments so times are more limited. She will need to ask you our Coronavirus Screening Questions, take pre-payment over the phone and tell you how to complete your forms online. These measures have been put in place to avoid unnecessary contact at reception and to reduce your time in the practice.
The day before your appointment
Reegan, our receptionist, will need to speak to you again the day before your appointment. She will ask you our Coronavirus Screening Questions again and check that you have completed your forms online. After this, Reegan will give you details for what you need to do when you attend your appointment.
Arriving for your appointment
When you arrive for your appointment, you will need to wait outside and call Reegan on reception, so we know that you are waiting and because she needs to ask you our Coronavirus Screening Questions again. Please ensure that you are dressed appropriately for the weather and only bring the essentials with you to your appointment. Patients will need to attend on their own (unless you are accompanying an under 16 or someone with reduced capacity).
Entering the practice
When it is time for your appointment, we will unlock the door and invite you in. It is important that you do not touch anything, including door handles and handrails. There is hand sanitiser for you to use and take a tissue (if you need to sneeze or cough then it must be done into the tissue). You will be expected to maintain social distancing at all times other than when you are in the dental chair.
After your appointment
At the end of your appointment, you will be escorted out of the practice. It is important that you continue to maintain social distancing and do not touch anything. If you need to visit reception then please maintain social distancing even though there is a screen. If your next appointment is routine (eg: a checkup) then this cannot be booked at this time. If your next appointment is a review then this may be done via phone or video.
